Over half a century ago, Saudi Arabia – thanks to its huge oil and geo-religious potential – managed to achieve sweeping cultural, advocacy and political influence throughout the world, including the Muslim world in particular. This is who what I call “Saudi Islam” was widespread. And most of the religious men , preachers and the sons of Islamic movements were influenced by this “Islamic” pattern, to a degree. What is Saudi Islam? Some call it “Wahhabism” and it is actually Wahhabi, but the Wahhabism of Saudi Islam is modified and adapted. Some call it “Salafist”, which is actually a distorted supple Salafist. Some see it as “Hanbali”, but it is Hanbali in a rigid KSA’s Najd way. Others call it ” new Ẓāhirī “, but it actually is a Saudi distorted one. Some attribute Saudi Islam to Ibn Taymiyyah, but Ibn Taymiyah – for those who know him well – is the greatest victim and grievous of this attribution. it has been described by other descriptions, such as extremism , rigorism, the ” jurisprudence of Bedouin ” and “jurisprudence of the underdevelopment”.
In fact, “Saudi Islam” has a share in all of these descriptions, but in its composition there is a special pattern of understanding and religiosity, which is formed between the harshness of the sand and the effectiveness of money in the hand! It is controlled under the shadow of the two embracing Swords, and guidance of the House of Saud and their domination. As long as this “Saudi Islam” is a mixture of complex and multiple sources and assets, Let us leave its lineage aside and recall some of its known and distinguished characteristics ,noting that some of them date back to the days of Mohammed bin Abdul Wahab and Mohammed bin Saud.
and some are especially formed under the rule of the ” Third Saudi state”, which is the state of King Abdul Aziz ,that is ruling to date. And I am not talking now about what could be said of the pros or cons .. But about some of the apparent and overwhelming negative features for this “Saudi Islam” ..
The intensity and roughness, which is a prominent feature: whether in ideas, or in judgments, or in words … Even “Salafist” or “Wahhabi” in the eyes of the general public became a symbol of severity , hardness and adhering. Even in normal transactions among Saudis, it is said to those who are very strict about things: “Do not act like a Hanbali “, that is not don’t be like the Salafis or Hanbalis in their severity and exaggerations.
Dealing with Muslims and judging them through a culture of atonement, deceit and defamation, whether people, sects, or individuals … Even the great ancient and modern scholars are not safe from the Saudi misguidance, veneration, and campaigns, they may even reach the point of branding them infidels .
Reliance on violence and sword. The Kingdom is in the vanguard of the highest levels of murder, torture, detention and abduction .It is worth noting that the many wars fought by the Saudi state have been, and still are, directed against the Muslims!
igniting strife and conflicts between Muslims; as the mean concern of the sheikhs of Saudi Islam is to launch raids and ignite conflicts, against Islamic jurisprudence doctrines, Islamic Sufi doctrines, Islamic religious movements, and against Muslim scholars and intellectuals.
Rough on the nation and its scientists, kind with governors and tyrants. When the sheikhs of Saudi Islam are described as strict and restrictive, it is not in the absolute sense of the word , but rather on the generality of the Muslims, in their customs, worship, and transactions. while with governors, they are usually very lenient and cheap.
In general, they play on two strings , they are mean opponents and enemies when it comes to the masses of the nation and its scientists, while they are servile sheep with their rulers ,tyrants and the mandates of their grace.
