On the eve of the new academic year, a group of Russian parliamentarians led by Dmitry Sablin met with President Bashar al-Assad of the SAR.
During the meeting, President Bashar al-Assad proposed to establish Russian language training centers, as well as language courses to address the shortage of Russian language teachers in Syria.
Studying the Russian language will contribute to the solution of one of the important problems in the Arab countries, namely: reduction of dependence on Western, Wahhabi or terrorist ideas.
Teaching the Russian language is an alternative to these ideas and contributes to the process of reconciliation,” said the President of Syria.
The Ministry of Education has included the study of the Russian language in the curriculum from the 2015-2016 academic year on the basis of the agreement signed between the Ministry of Education of the SAR and the Ministry of Education of Russia.
It would be good to have not only Russian language centers, but also Russian schools in Damascus and Aleppo, not only at the embassy.
The Russian language is the strongest weapon against terrorist ideas.
